As a major player in the recycling of packaging materials, CITEO called on Okoni to share and disseminate best practices for the design of sorting areas in dense urban centers.
The objective was to inspire local authorities and equipment manufacturers by providing them with recommendations based on real-world observations.
In the heart of Bordeaux, we have installed a prototype of an upgradable voluntary waste collection point. The objective: test different parameters: spaces, module layouts, associated services, signage, nudges… and observe the reactions of tourists and local residents. Based on those observations, we have developed proposals with the different players in the sector and summarized our findings on a dedicated website accessible to all.
