Improving safety on school buses

The MAIF Foundation, in partnership with the KEOLIS group, ANATEEP, and BVA wishes to come up develop an idea for, design, and test devices to improve safety on school buses and to encourage children and teenagers to wear seatbelts.

The measurements were carried out by our parent company, BVA, to evaluate the impact on the rate of seatbelt use among children according to their age group. Several concepts were thought up and designed based on the principles of behavioral economics.

Results

The rate of seatbelt use more than doubled on average (from 10% to 24%), and up to 80% on some buses.
